Part 1 of this little #animation of abstract musicians. Swipe left to see the original #drawing (digitized vector version) and again to see the first #character I isolated, extracted and broke up into layers. So much fun creating and animating this little cha

So much fun creating and animating this little character. The first video is the final result, but if you swipe left you can see the isolated fragments. Everything was created in adobe illustrator using basic shapes that were combined, layered and or merged. The animation was generated in after effects. Its all 2D, no rigging involved, just a few vertical and horizontal movements of each part to give “impressions” of more. This kind of work is really hard to stop making, its too much fun. Plus, growing up as a Saturday morning cartoon fanatic, its hard not to want to pay homage!

Twenty twenty one will be a 20 year mark that some of the first hand pulled newyawk screen prints were produced and expanded upon from its novelty during the late 1990s..

I took a great class with the master @draplin on @skillshare and have been thinking a lot about creating some new #merch and making a series of enamel pins, stickers and embroidered patches (or wrapping paper?) I have always loved this little icon that I made and want to see it evolve off the screen and into the world. I also want to simulate the process and be transparent about it. More to come!

Work in progress- testing testing - #wip - Lets make this lil dude start to move. This is just a quick series of fun iterations and effects applied between photoshop and mobile apps like “Imaengine” - animated sticker #GIFS can be made in photoshop to maintain the needed transparent background.

Up and at it here! Here is a new variation of this

Up and at it here! Here is a new variation of this new animated series - for practice, I take a simple premise like “2 friends walking through a city” and play with that. Keep it simple and seemingly banal, light goes a long way setting a mood, as well as the duration and movement of the loop itself. I make the background graphics first and then the characters (the assets were all made in #adobe #illustrator this time - so it started it all as a vector illustration) - usually I just start in black and white lines or shapes. Im a big fan of variety and love to see what the aesthetic potentials are for style- which can mean the degeneration of the art. (Swipe left to see ) All of the assets were animated into one composition using adobe #aftereffects
